Getting Real

I’m what culture calls a Gen-Xer, a child of the 80’s. The music of the 80’s is my music: Flock of Seagulls, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, and Devo… just to name a few. There are songs that will forever be associated with the memories of my youth: “Fantasy” from Aldo Nova, “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins, and “Crazy For You” by Madonna. Every generation has its music. Each of us probably has “that song,” or “our song.” Becky and I have a song – “Opposites Attract” by Paula Abdoul. (Yikes!) With this new series: “Rooting for the Anti-Hero,” I will explore the music of Taylor Swift as an example of how the experiences of our lives can be embodied through music. I look forward to exploring the good news of the gospel in new ways.
