Get Out There and Do Something!!

Haggai was the first of the post-exilic minor prophets, delivering messages from God to the people of Judah after being held captive by the Babylonians for 70 years. Through Haggai, God urged his people to set their priorities on him and to spend their efforts building up their community rather than acquiring personal wealth. He accuses them of greed and excessive egocentrism and rebukes them for their actions. We cannot ignore the direct relevance this carries to our own lives. With the myriad of community service opportunities available, it has never been easier to reach out to our neighbor and glorify God through our good works.
