Why do we have an app for our church? If you are like me this is a question you asked yourself when you learned about our app.
The first reason, honestly, is that is comes with our digital communications package which includes our website, giving, media, and more. It is only good stewardship that we try to use all of the resources that we are paying for.
The second reason is the app is a quick way to access our website, social media, calendar, past services, prayer requests, and giving. All of these are available on the website, but when navigating on a mobile device the app is a lot easier.
The third reason is communication. Push notifications can be annoying, but we will try to use them sparingly. They are great as reminders about upcoming events and for letting people know about last minute cancellations. If you would like to get notifications, be sure to turn them on in your profile. Right now we have 3 categories, General for whole church announcements, Families for announcements about our family programs, and Student Ministries for our teen programming.
As you learn more about the app, please feel free to reach out and let me know how improvements can be made. Having a church app is just another tool that we will use as we strive to live into our mission of connecting imperfect people to a perfect God.
