A Note from
Pastor Becky

Greetings to the congregation of O’Fallon First United Methodist Church!

I am looking forward to meeting you in person, but first I wanted to send a brief introduction.  I’m Becky Lembke (pronounced “limb” + “key”), but you can call me Pastor Becky or just Becky.  My husband, Tim, and I were married in 1997.  Over the years, Tim also served churches as a licensed local pastor while working other jobs until recent years.  On a personal note, I am an animal and nature lover who enjoys camping and camp fires.  Also, a cat named Boots will be moving into the parsonage.  I also enjoy family gatherings, visiting old friends, and making new ones.

I am delighted to be moving to O’Fallon since this is a community with which I have some familiarity.  I grew up in the Metro-East area in a little town called Dupo.  I received my bachelor’s degree from McKendree College (yes, before it became a university) and my masters of divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.
During my ministry, I’ve served a wide variety of churches.  Some churches were in small cities and others were in rural communities.  Some churches were in farming communities and others were in college towns.  Some churches had a long history of 175 years or more, while others were far less than half that age.  And what bound all of these churches together was a strong commitment to loving and serving God in unique ways that reflected their particular community.  I look forward to hearing stories of your particular witness within the O’Fallon community and the visions you have regarding where God is leading you.

I couldn’t help but notice from my conversation with the SPPRC that you are an active and vibrant congregation with a rich history, strong outreach focus, and inspiring future.  Until we meet face-to-face, we can meet in our prayers for one another during this time of transition.  If you are like me, this time is filled with a grief and uncertainty that is tempered by a cautious hope and an open heart.  I look forward to joining with you on the journey that God is placing before us.

Pastor Becky's first Sunday will be on July 7, 2024
